Our 4th & 5th graders went on a top secret mission after VBS today!



They had a great time putting all they learned this week into practice by making scripture stones and going on a field trip downtown to hide them.

Today we learned the final key in becoming Secret Agent of God. See, the bible tells us to share God's love with others by doing kind things for them without everyone around us knowing. When we do that, we become God's Secret Agents.

At the beginning of the day we saw a video and learned the Mr Evil Meanie Bo-beanie Head had taken Spy Guy captive. The only way to set him free was to earn kindness points. VBS leaders watched closely all morning to catch kids sharing God's love with each other to earn kindness points. Fortunately, for Spy Guy, the kids earned enough points to set him free!!

Wow! What a great time we had learning about how God wants us to share his love with others by serving them. From painting stones in preparation for tomorrow's field trip in the Spy Gear Workshop to making & examining dental impressions in the Evidence Lab to cracking another type code in Code Breaking much, much fun was had. We even had a very special visit from Mr Adam who let us see his photography drone in action!

The best day of the week is yet to come! Tomorrow we learn the final step to becoming a secret agent of God. And, we will find out what this crazy guy's up to!

It's hard to believe we are half way through the week already!  Time flies when you're having fun!  Today's Bible verse was 1 John 4:7  Dear friends, we should love each other, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has become God’s child. And so everyone who loves knows God. 



We decoded the Bible verse by wrapping a long strip of paper around a ruler and talked about how God tells us he wants us to share his love with others. 



We extracted DNA in the Evidence Lab and learned how although we are all unique, we are all the same, too. The Bible tells us to treat others how we'd like them to treat us. This was a super cool experiment!



Our agents also completed an agility training course with Mrs Helmig. We have been blessed with beautiful weather this week and have been enjoying our time outside playing games at Mission Training.

Mrs Koziol & the kids have been working hard to memorize all the books of the Bible in the Code Breaking room.  Each child who memorizes all the books of the new testament and can recite them to Ms Christina will earn a FBI (Firm Believer In Christ) t-shirt!

We had a ton of fun at Vacation Bible School this morning!  Today we studied John 3:16 and fingerprinting.  We learned that God made us each unique.  We studied our fingerprints by pressing them onto a balloon and blowing the balloon up to enlarge the fingerprint noticing how no two are the same.  No two of us are the same, but, Good News, God loves us all the same!  In fact, He loves us SO much that he gave his only son so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life!

VBS is off to a great start! You know how you see a word, maybe like 1 Corinthians, with some numbers after it? Well, we now know what that means!   In the Code Breaking room, we learned how to crack that code to find that Bible verse and uncovered God's word!



We played Spies & Super Spies in Mission Training. In the Spy Gear Workshop we made top secret evidence notebooks to keep track of the Bible verses we will be decoding all week and secret agent badges.

Then, in the Evidence Lab we learned more about codes and invisible ink. Having the right tools, like a black light, can make the message appear just like knowing how to read the Bible helps us see God's message.
